Review
"The definitive theological dictionary from an evangelical standpoint. . . . Here is a reference tool that
ought without question to be on the shelf of every university student, seminarian, and Christian worker."
--Bruce Demarest, Themelios
"Provides for the first time a full and balanced overview of evangelical theology."
--Library Journal
"EDT is a work of responsible evangelical scholarship, judicious, and generally fair to all sides. It has
no ax to grind, though it does have a position to present. And happily, this it does with an acceptable confidence."
--Paul Bassett, Christianity Today
"Walter Elwell and Baker Book House are to be congratulated for the production of a first-class piece of evangelical
scholarship. . . . [It] deserves a place in the library of every evangelical pastor, scholar, and local church."
--John Jefferson Davis, Trinity Journal
"This is a book that all who are concerned about Christian ministry, whether on a professional or a lay level,
would do well to have."
--Robert H. Culpepper, Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary
"A rich resource of theological, biblical, philosophical, historical, and contemporary ethical information
and insight."
--Douglas Kelly, PCA Messenger
"A prodigious and significant work."

Summary

of Theology. Every article from the original edition has been revisited. With some articles being removed, others
revised, and many new articles added, the result is a completely new dictionary covering systematic, historical,
